About This Trail

A remote 9-mile backcountry route to the 4,010-foot summit of Mount Redington, Maine’s only trailless 4,000-footer that historically required aggressive bushwhacking. A herd path now connects from South Crocker, but the AMC warns hikers to treat it as a bushwhack with proper navigation gear for this isolated High Peaks summit.
