About This Trail

This 3.6-mile open dike route traverses the back reaches of Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge, following elevated levees with expansive views across freshwater marsh and Delaware Bay wetlands. The long, flat trail is one of the refuge’s best options for sustained birding walks, with uninterrupted sightlines across impoundments where snow geese and tundra swans gather in winter.
