About This Trail

This 2-mile easy loop at Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge winds through marsh margins and low coastal scrub along the Delaware Bay shore, where historic oyster shell deposits give the area its name. The flat trail passes through the refuge’s 10,000-acre coastal habitat, offering chances to spot diamondback terrapins, marsh hawks, and nesting shorebirds.

Getting There

From Milton, take Route 1 south to Route 16 east toward Broadkill Beach. Turn left onto Turkle Pond Road and continue to Prime Hook NWR. The Oyster Rocks Loop is accessible from the headquarters trail system.
