About This Trail

A challenging climb via the Appalachian Trail to Saddleback’s 4,120-foot summit, featuring Maine’s third-largest alpine zone with three miles of exposed ridgeline. The rare alpine tundra supports fragile plants found on fewer than 50 miles of ridge in all of New England.
