About This Trail
A ridge route through the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, the world’s first refuge for birds of prey established in 1934, with overlook points along the Kittatinny Ridge raptor migration corridor. The trail passes through Appalachian oak-hickory forest to viewpoints where thousands of raptors soar past during fall migration. North Lookout and South Lookout offer peak viewing September through November.
